Always choose condoms that carry the European CE mark, although
some condoms in the UK might carry the voluntary BS Kitemark.
Condoms
tips:
Heat can damage condoms – always store in a cool, dry place
away from direct sunlight.
Always check
the expiry date - condoms don't last for ever.
Getting used
to condoms can take practice.
Choosing a condom that fits perfectly can add new dimensions of
comfort. There is no standard length for condoms which is why
all our condoms are designed to cater for individual's needs.
The
width of a condom can also vary. Some condoms have a slightly
smaller width to give a "closer" fit, whereas others
will be slightly larger. Natural rubber will always
stretch.
Condoms
are usually made of latex or polyurethane. If possible you should
use a latex condom as they are slightly more reliable. A small
number of people have an allergic reaction to latex and use
polyurethane condoms instead.
Most
condoms are already lubricated but some people find that using
extra lubricant can improve comfort and can also help prevent
condom breakage. You can buy lubricant in tubes from chemists
and supermarkets.
Only
use water-based lubricants (such as KY jelly, Sensel, Clinigel,
or Boots lubricating jelly) on latex condoms. Never use oil-based
lubricants such as baby oil as they will damage the condom and
make it unsafe.
